It's been how many months?!?

Perfection!

FIVE!!!! Yep, that's right.... Sawyer is 5 months old today! And I thought time went by fast with one. Multiply that by about 1000 and that is how fast it goes by with two! It is the craziest thing. I will say I am trying to take things a little slower with Sawyer and enjoy him being a baby a little more than I did with Hayden, but it doesn't always work. For example, Sawyer will be sitting up without assistance in no time and I hardly ever work with him on it. He's ready... I'm not. Imagine that! I just want him to stay a baby. Funny thing is, I tried my hardest to "help" Hayden do things like sitting up and he just wasn't ready. Figures huh?!? It is so much fun watching them grow, but sad at the same time. Sawyer is literally changing right before our eyes. Good thing I keep a blog, pictures and videos. I'm certain I couldn't keep it all in my brain without it! Here are a few of his likes and dislikes...

What Sawyer Likes:
- Sleep - He gets this honest. We all like it... he just likes it the most! We put him to bed around 8 and he is usually not up before 10 the next morning. Occasionally he will wake on his own before then, but not very often. Crazy right?!? I literally go in his room and wake him if he is not up by 10am. I know it's a good thing, but I find myself worrying about it more than enjoying it. I'm like... why isn't he up?!? But, he is as happy as ever when I go in there, so I am assuming he is just enjoying his sleep! I'm not quite sure how he is enjoying it with Hayden being the loudest big brother ever, but he must be! He's even happy when I have to wake him up at 8am on the mornings I have to take Hayden to school. Go figure. The child is just as laid back as ever!
- Meals - He is still breastfeeding only, but he is loving it. He pretty much just eats like the rest of us these days. Three meals a day with an occasional snack every once and a while. Most days he doesn't even want a snack, but boy... he doesn't miss a meal. That's for sure! He will let us know if he is hungry!:)
- Piano Activity Center - We let him rotate on this and his jumper and he really likes them both, but tends to lean towards the activity center a bit more. Probably just because he feet can reach the ground a little better on it. I'm sure when he gets a little taller he will be jumping all over the place! He loves making it light up and play songs, and he really likes using the microphone!!
- His Thumb - That's right folks, we have a thumb sucker. I am doing whatever I can to keep it out of his mouth during the day, but it never fails that it is in his mouth when I enter his room in the mornings. He is a little better with the paci now, but definitely favors his thumb. If it weren't such a hard habit to break I wouldn't really care, but I hear it is a nightmare, so I will try my best to keep him happy with something else!:) We'll see!
- Ocean Play Mat - Loves this thing. This is about the only way I can get him to do tummy time, so I love it to! It will entertain him for a good 20 minutes! The funniest is when Hayden tries to go over and play on it with him. Sawyer does not enjoy the company!!! Looks like the sharing thing is going to be an ongoing process!
- The Camera - A lot like Hayden was at this age, Sawyer loves being in front of my camera! He just flashes that big smile over and over! I am enjoying it now, because I know it won't be long before I will have to bribe him to get those big smiles for the camera!!!
- Bath time - Especially the part right when you put him in and he gets to kick his feet all over the place. He loves the big splashes he makes! You really can't even imagine just how much water the child can manage to get OUT of the bathtub! We definitely have ourselves another child who loves the water!
- Monkey Pacifier - Not so much the pacifier part as the monkey part! It is a tiny stuffed monkey with a pacifier attached to his head and Sawyer loves it. Most of the time he is gnawing on one of Mr. Monkey's arms, legs, or ears! Figures he wouldn't care an awful lot about the pacifier part huh?!?

What Sawyer Dislikes:
- A stopped car - I know this seems so silly for me to list, but it is so true. He can be dead asleep in the car and if you stop it, his eyes pop right open and the crying begins. He just hates it. Needless to say, we do any and everything to keep the car moving at all times. Even if that means taking back roads instead of the interstate to avoid traffic. Or driving around in circles instead of parking!! Yep, we are those parents!!! So, when you are out and notice the same car driving around the same parking lot minus one adult you might as well wave because it is probably us! Gotta keep the boys happy!
- Loud noises - When he is awake that is. When asleep there is nothing that can wake him, but when he is awake he really doesn't like any kind of loud noise. Hayden screaming or being crazy doesn't seem to bother him as much as other things, but he still makes a crazy face even when it's Hayden!

What Sawyer is not sure of:
- His Bouncer - This was at the top of his favorite list for such a long time, but it is slowly starting to fade. I guess we will be putting it up soon. He will still sit in it when I am getting ready or cooking, but he really doesn't seem to be having that great of a time, on top of the fact he is about to outgrow it. I told you... he's not a baby anymore. Boo, hoo!:(
- Sydney - I'm pretty sure this hasn't made it to his like list yet because Hayden and Daddy make her act so crazy around him. They are constantly playing with her which in turn gets her extremely excited and loud. Sawyer is not a big fan of the barking or the growling. He does however LOVE her kisses! I have to constantly keep an eye on those two if they are in the same room because he will just sit there and leave his mouth wide open as she licks it. I'm okay with the occasional kiss, but the licking inside the mouth for extended periods of time is NOT okay!!!

Our happy little man...

All the time!!

Enjoying playtime with the piano!

I told you he loved his baths...

So much so he laughs out loud!

This was right before one of his huge kicks!

Sweet boy!

Always sucking that thumb...

And so peaceful!

Fun times with his jumper!

I like to say he was showing me he was 5 months here!
Why else would he have put his hand up there
showing me all five fingers?!?

Such a cutie!

Are those some big eyes or what?!?

Can you tell just how much he likes it?!?

There's that big smile!

I told you he liked the camera!

Although these last 5 months have flown by, they have been so much fun. We feel so blessed to have added another sweet, loving boy to our family. We are having the greatest time watching the boys grow up! Happy 5 months Sawyer! We love you!

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Loving his snow time!

That's right... it snowed! In Georgia!! We were so excited when Mr. Weatherman told us it was going to snow at our house last Sunday night. We love snow! Truthfully though, I was a little reluctant to even tell the boys about it ahead of time because I didn't know if we should believe it or not. It seems like every time there is supposed to be a big snow storm here it turns out to be not as "big" as the weather people expected, and I didn't want to get them all excited for nothing. Lucky for me, I have my own little personal weatherman, Matt, who assured me it was going to snow this time and it was safe to tell the boys it would be white outside Monday morning! So, I went with it and told them all about it. Although I'm not so sure Hayden understood exactly what I was talking about, he was definitely excited for the ground to be white when he woke up. Oh, and super excited he was going to be able to play in it this time! As for Sawyer, I am pretty certain he understood every single word I was telling him about the big snow coming, because he just cooed and smiled the whole time I was telling him about it!:) We also decided to follow the crowds and get some last minute grocery items since we were certain to be "snowed in"! Well, for once all the preparation paid off... snow it did, and whole lot of it! I really couldn't believe it. It was finally a significant amount. And even on the roads. So much so Hayden had no school the entire week and Matt didn't even have to go to work right away on Monday or Tuesday morning. Crazy right?!? The pharmacy closed... who would have thought? Definitely not us! I guess I should note here that the true reason for the school and business closing wasn't really because of the snow, but because of the ice and how dangerous the road conditions were, but it is more fun to just remember it as a huge snow instead of a huge ice! It was really nice getting to have a little more quality time with Daddy for a few days. The boys loved all their extra play time! Especially in the snow! Although it snowed Christmas day, I still considered this Sawyer's first real snow because it is the first time he actually got to get out in it and enjoy it a little bit. It was just too cold and windy on Christmas to get out in it and enjoy it. This time it was cold, windy and even still sleeting on the very first day(we went out with Hayden but quickly returned inside!), but by day two the sun decided to come out and join us making it much more fun! I kind of thought all the ice was going to be a damper on things, but we managed to have as much fun as ever! As always, the photo documenter(if that's even a word!) in me took tons of pictures, and even a sledding video...

I told you he loved it!

As for Sydney... she had a blast!

Yes, she is actually walking on top of the crazy ice layer here. Must be nice to not even weigh enough to fall through the ice layer! It was hilarious when she would slip and slide! Speaking of the ice layer that decided to form after day one... Hayden could even walk on top of it without falling through. It was crazy. It didn't take long for him to figure out how to jump and make the ice break though, and that was definitely a highlight of the whole snow adventure for him! He actually got really good at walking on it after a while. He would just slide his feet right along and then jump if he wanted to break it. So cute! I enjoyed telling him he was "ice skating"!

Whooooaaaa... I'm walking on ice!:)

Hopefully when the day comes that we actually go ice skating for real he won't be too confused!:)

Daddy's attempt at making a snow angel... it was a little hard with the ice layer!!!

During one of their naps while we were stuck at home I got a little crazy and decided to change some of the pics to black and white. This is what I came up with...

Aren't they just the cutest little boys you ever did see?!?

It was almost 5 inches in this spot(and that was on day 3!)!!

We even took Hayden out for a little "night" fun in the snow one day after Daddy got home from work. He loved it just as much at night as he did during the day! Don't worry, we weren't out too late, but it did get dark on us!:)

Can you tell we had the best time ever?!?

Talk about best time ever.... sledding! My parents gave us the sled I had used when I was little last year when it snowed so we could take Hayden sledding in it, and sneaky us... we just kept it! Good thing, because there was no way they could have made it up here to play in the snow with us and without it we would have been minus a ton of fun. We should probably just invest in a sled of our own for the boys, but something about knowing I used it as a kid just makes it that much more fun. Oh, and it would be hard to find one that worked so great anyways. The back on it just makes it so easy for Hayden to use. He just sits back, relaxes and enjoys the ride! So, I think we'll just go ahead and keep the sled... for a while anyways! Thanks Gigi and Grandaddy!!!

Ready for his ride...

I'm pretty sure he was unaware that his Daddy
was going to be so crazy going up the hill!

But I think he was fully aware of how much fun
he would have coming down it! He LOVED it!

The excitement and fun went to a whole new
level when Sydney join
ed in on the fun...

Hayden literally laughed the entire way down the hill...
he could not get control
of himself!

And look at how much fun Daddy was having!!!

Something about having Sydney riding on that sled with him just took sledding to a whole new place for Hayden. I mean he had fun when it was just him, but nothing like when Sydney joined him. That was like the funnest(pretty sure this isn't a word either, but I just had to use it because that is how Hayden would describe it!) thing he had ever done. I didn't think poor Matt was going to ever be able to stop taking them up that hill. "Again, again, again" is all we heard Hayden say other than hysterical laughing for at least an hour! Sydney on the other hand... not so excited! I am pretty sure she was trying to "jump sled" each and every trip down the hill. It's safe to say she didn't think it was quite as much fun as Hayden did!

See.... Hayden was having the time of his life, but poor
Sydney couldn't wait for the ri
de to be over!:)

One of their rides ended like this...

Probably because Daddy ended up like this after his "push"!!
Don't worry, everyone was just fine!

Somehow, I managed to get him to stop for one little
second and take a pic with me! Sweet of him huh?!?

Although I thought Sawyer was just a little too small to enjoy a ride down the hill, I couldn't let the days pass us by without letting him try out the sled!

So glad I let him try it... he loved it! I can't wait until they
can ride down that hill together one year!

He loved it so much he fell right asleep! I guess
it makes as good of a bed as it does a toy!:)

Sweet dreams sweet boy! You sure look cute all bundled up!

Just in case you were wondering, I did take him inside and let him finish his sleep in the comfort of his own bed! Sweet of me... I know!:)

Hayden also thoroughly enjoyed picking up the pieces of ice, throwing
them and watching them crash into a m
illion pieces. "BOOM"
is what I would hear over and over. Accompanied
with the biggest grin ever of course! I've said
it before and I'll say it again... ALL boy!
It entertained him forever!!!

He gets that from his Daddy... he enjoyed throwing the ice with
Hayden and watching it go into the lake. Silly boys!:)

They also enjoyed zooming down the slide with their snow gear on!

Eventually the ice layer started to melt and Hayden could finally
walk instead of skate! Look at those cute little footprints!
I think it is hilarious how close together his steps
were. Probably a combination of being
nervous about it still being ice and
being so bundled up he could
hardly move!!!

Oh, and I just had to include this next picture because I thought it was so funny...

Happy boy!

I absolutely could not get him to take off his outfit when he came inside from that first day of playing. So, he watched his entire episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse all dressed and ready. I promised him we would put it back on and go back out after his nap, but I guess he didn't believe me so he insisted on keeping it on. Don't worry, I did manage to get it off of him before his nap! And, we DID put it back on and go back out after he woke up!:)

Which thrilled him to death!

Sweet little Sawyer!

Taking it all in...

I just love this one...

SNOW much fun!

Now for the video! It really shows just how much Hayden enjoyed sledding down our little mini hill! If you listen real closely you can hear him laughing all the way down the hill. So cute! I also think it is hilarious when he attempts to wave when I ask him to in the video. His little arm shoots up, but you can't even tell it's a wave because he is so bundled up! I wonder just how frustrated he was with that?!? Oh, and "again" was heard at the end of each and every run! Poor Daddy had to run up and down that hill SO many times!:) I guess I shouldn't say poor, because he enjoyed it almost as much as Hayden!!! We can't wait for our next big snow!
