YAY! He finally decided to take the plunge and walk for us... today was the big day! One day shy of his 1/2 birthday to be exact. Leap day 2012 was a super special day for us!:) That's all Sawyer was waiting on this whole time... an extra day in the year!:) So, I can "officially" say he was 17 months old when he started walking ;). Ha! I have said this many times, and I'm going to say it again here... Sawyer could walk quite a long time ago, he just chose not to. He would take steps here and there, but never walk as his means from getting from one place to the next. Dr. P was a little concerned because he seemed to have low muscle tone, but said we would wait to do any further evaluations at his 18 month check-up. Of course our little stinker had to wait until the week before his appointment to let us see him in full blown action! Leave it to a Ronn to wait until the last minute to do something! Dr. P will be so happy when we seem him next week. Although it seemed to take an eternity(mainly because we were "waiting"), we are still super proud of him. In fact, we are so proud I had to extend his walking video to 2 whole minutes...
How cute was that?!? I had to include the clips at the beginning where he just took a step or two just so you could see what it was like around here before he would full on walk. Oh, and don't you just love Hayden cheering him on? Such a proud big brother! I love it! Now instead of "scoopin' races" as Hayden would always call them, we can have walkin' races! Yay! I love in the video where Hayden laps Sawyer as if Sawyer should already be able to run. With Hayden's help, I guess he'll catch on quick!:) Be on the lookout for a running video soon!!! We are all very proud of you Sawyer. You sure are a cute little walker! Now, if anyone has any tips on how to keep up with both of them at once please let me know ASAP!
