Belly Cast...

Such a sweet little man!

OK, only forever late posting these pictures. Am I behind or what?!? Can someone please tell me when I will catch up with my blog posts?!? Life with two is much busier, especially when Hayden is your first born. Demanding would be the best word to describe him right now!:) Sawyer on the other hand is pretty much a little angel. Eat, sleep, poop with a little tummy/play time in between is all it takes to keep him happy these days. We are SO blessed! I will have more updated pics for you soon, but for today I had to go back and show you the belly cast pics. Right before Sawyer was born, Auntie May came up and helped me(well the only part I did was be a belly model!) make this belly cast. I had thought about doing it with Hayden and never got around to it, so this time I wanted to try it out. Turns out it is quite a project, but super fun and cute. After he was born I couldn't wait to see if he still fit in that belly. It seemed impossible that a 9 pound, 11 ounce baby could have fit, but sure enough... in he went, and fit he did. He had himself a comfy little close fit, but it was a fit none the less. Look how messy the project was...

The making of the cast...

Very messy, but oh so fun!

I told you he still fit! I now know why my belly stuck out so far!:)

This is why I could feel kicks up to my chest!!!

This has to make you smile... cute little wink!;)

Ready to punch the next person who tried
to mess with his peaceful sleep!!!

Blowing bubbles!

Sweet little yawn!

I'm pretty sure I have a 3D ultrasound picture that looks
exactly like this one... foot right by his face and all!
Love those chunky che
eks!:)

The cozy little place he used to call home...

It was so much fun to actually put him in the belly cast and see how he fit now that he has joined us outside the belly! He really seemed comfy and cozy in there! Back when we were making this cast I said I was going to paint it and use it for some sort of decoration or something, but you can guess where it is now located right? In the attic. Ha! One day I'll take it down and do something creative with it!!! For now, I am just all consumed with my new sweet little boy. He is now 4 weeks old and weighs a whopping 11 pounds, 8 ounces(90th percentile!) and is 22 and 1/2 inches long(75-90th percentile!). Oh, and his head measures 38centimeters(50th percentile!). We were supposed to start the poly-vi-sol once a day after his 4 week check-up, but just like Hayden he was not having the poly-vi-sol. We might try again, but for now... no poly-vi-sol. Dr. Papciak just said to make sure he gets some sun light... so walks outside it is for us!:)

First Day of "School"!

All grown up...

OK, so really it is just a Mom's Morning Out program that they call school, but I like it better calling it school too, so we will just keep on calling it that!:) Hayden had his first day of school back on August 24th, but I am just now getting around to posting about it. Sorry! There is just something about taking him to "school" that is just so grown up. Kind of sad really... I like our mornings together. It is only for 3 hours two days a week, but still a little emotional. I didn't think I would ever be a crier when dropping a kid off for their "first" day of something like school, and I did not cry taking him here, but by the time real kindergarten gets here I think I might be crying. Mostly because I don't think he will be crying and that is probably what will be the saddest. I couldn't get emotional leaving him this time because he was far too emotional about it. He seemed fine walking into the building(it is at Midway United Methodist Church), but when the nice lady took him from my arms to take him to his class it was all downhill. The crying began and must not have gotten much better as the morning progressed. Hayden cut We Wonder(that is the name of the program he is in) down to one and one-half hours on the very first day. I know he was proud of himself for having Momma called on day one. That's right... I had to go pick him up early on the very.first.day. Attachment is a real issue. Well, for us anyways. I can see this will not be an easy transition... unlike the toddler bed. The director, yes director of the school not his teacher, called me around 11am(half way through his day) and told me she thought he had had enough of a day(her exact words!), and if I could come pick him up that would be best. Naturally, when I got there, here comes happy Hayden running down the hall to greet me with a huge hug. So happy I had come to rescue him! He had actually fallen asleep in one of the directors arms while waiting on me to get there! Well, I spoke to both of the directors and they just told me he would eventually be fine and that we would try it again that Thursday. They also asked me if he had a lovie or a paci I could bring to try to help him with the transition, and since he doesn't take a paci I told them I would try bringing one of his lovies. Just so you know, I was not crazy about this idea, but decided to pack it in his book bag for Thursday just to see if it would help. Well... HE DID IT! He stayed all day on Thursday. All three hours!!! Although I didn't think the lovie was the greatest idea, it helped him make it through the whole day, so in the end I totally think it was worth it. I'm sure he'll be able to make it without it soon enough, but for now... lovie is going to school too!:) Oh, and just so you know... his lovie was in his hand at 12:30pm when we got there to pick him up. Yep, pretty sure they let him carry it around the classroom all day. But, his teachers did tell me he did great once he had his lovie(which was 5 minutes after I had dropped him off I am sure). No more crying from Hayden! Hopefully it will help school be a more positive experience. Anyways, I'm sure lovie has a few things he needs to learn as well!!! Oh, and they also told me he fell asleep again on Thursday. The teacher said he asked for his lovie and laid right down on the floor and went to sleep. Crazy huh?!? I guess they really wear him out!! The only problem is that when we get home he doesn't want to nap again. He thinks the little 30 minute cat nap he takes at school is enough to get him through the day... IT IS NOT! Hopefully he will start making it through the whole school day without falling asleep so that we can get this whole napping after school thing down soon!:) I'm just glad he's making it through the day without crying for now, we'll work on the napping thing later!

All ready to come downstairs...

Being silly as usual!

He looked so cute with his little book bag!

We took this pic right before leaving for his first day of school... so cute!

Let's get in the car already Mom!

He was so excited he was running into the building...

Making sure his friend Peyton was behind him of course!

Doing a little dance outside his classroom door(this was before he
realized he was going to have to go inside that door without me!)!

I tried to get a picture with him, but he had realized by this point he
was about to be left and didn't want any part of my picture!

He finally made it into the classroom, and this is him with Ms. Tanya.
I guess I should have known by his face here he wouldn't make it
the whole 3 hours on the very first day!!!

Oh, and I just had to post this picture. I thought it would be fun to take a post
day picture when we got home from school on the first day since we had
done a picture before going. Funny how his opinion of sitting next
to this book bag changed in a mere 2 hours!:) He wanted
absolutely NOTHING to do with it!

I must also mention here, since that first day, Hayden has made it successfully through all the other days. He even did great when I was in the hospital having Sawyer and Gigi had to take him. I thought this would be an absolute disaster, but he did great. He has also done great being dropped off via the carpool line instead of me having to walk him in to his classroom. Way to go Hayden! Oh, and he has also made it the last few weeks without falling asleep! So nice to get that afternoon nap at home!:) So, although the transition wasn't seamless, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be after that first day scare! It looks like school will be a positive experience after all! Oh, and check out this very first piece of artwork Hayden brought home for me this past week!

Future Picasso?!?

I was so proud! Of course it is hanging on our fridge!! And yes, for those of you that were wondering... I had tons of fun washing the paint out of his clothes and off his body!:)

He's Here... Sawyer David Ronn!!!

Love at first sight...

Sawyer finally made his arrival! That's right he was born on August 30th at 9:57am. He was 9 pounds, 11 ounces and 21 and 1/2 inches long. Yes, he was a BIG boy! Sweet as ever, but big!! The delivery went perfectly(once we made it to the hospital that is!). I must say I was in quite a bit of pain at the house before we made it there. I guess rightfully so though... I was a whopping 6 centimeters dilated once we finally made it to the hospital! Yikes right?!? Yes, I was certain I would miss getting my epidural, which was totally stressing me out, but we made it just in time for them to get the necessary fluid in me so I could have that magical pain medicine! PPPfffffuuuuuuwww... it was a close call! I had felt like I was in labor pretty much all day on the 29th, but kept telling myself it was probably false. It wasn't until the middle of the night when I knew we would be having baby Sawyer that day. I should have known it all along because it happened just the way it did with Hayden. Little contractions all through the day that progressively got worse and then BAM, the middle of the night real labor begins! Oh, and it was a Monday just like with Hayden! Crazy huh?!? The scare was waiting on Gigi and Grandaddy to get here to stay with Hayden so we could go to the hospital. It seemed like it took forever because I was having my contractions so close together, but they actually got here pretty fast considering they were coming from Jonesboro. I was so nervous because of Monday morning traffic and them having to go directly through Atlanta to get here, but they made it. Needless to say, Matt and I left right when they got here, and in normal Ronn style that ride was eventful as well. Matt decided to go the back way to the hospital instead of on 400 because he thought there would be less traffic... WRONG. Well, there may have been less traffic, but there certainly were not less buses taking all the little kiddos to school. Aaahhhhhhh! In the end, we made it to the hospital(Northside Forsyth that is!) and Sawyer was born 3 hours later! I went from 6-10 centimeters in a matter of minutes, and then once I could feel to push after having the epidural, I pushed a few times and out came Sawyer!:) Dr. Zimmerman(the lady who delivered Sawyer) even let me touch his head on the way out. It was really cool!

All the delivery room details...

This is what happens when you finally get your epidural!:)
The funny thing is I don't think I looked like this
for more than 30 seconds... it just happened
to get caught on camera!

Matt was ready to meet his newest addition...

Sawyer making his grand entrance!

Daddy cutting the umbilical cord!

Hayden... our little doctor for the day!:)

A Momma always loves the sound of that first cry!

And the first touch of that little hand!

And it is probably not even 5 minutes after they let you hold your new little addition that they take them right away from you to go do things like this...

They find out how big they are... in our case a whopping 9 pounds and 11 ounces!

I'm not sure they do this whole hold your baby
upside down thing to everyone, but they
had to do it with Sawyer. They were
trying to get him to cough up the
stuff he had swallowed on the
way out and apparently this
is one of the ways they
get that job done!

This was taken right after they finished up with his vitals...

Look at those tiny little fingers on that tiny little hand!

Cutest little feet ever!

I am so glad this was captured on camera because I only got to see it from afar
and would have never known exactly what Hayden's face looked like the
first time he got to "meet" Sawyer! Everyone was so excited for
Hayden to meet Sawyer... well everyone but Hayden!:)

I'm pretty sure he was disgusted!

Hayden truthfully wanted nothing to do with Sawyer at first. As a matter of fact he acted like he didn't even exist for about the first week. He just ignored the fact that he was present. And by ignore, I mean ignore! He just went on about his normal business and pretended Sawyer wasn't even in the picture. There was none of that sweet touching the baby or holding the baby... there was NO baby! It was pretty crazy! He has come around now though. He will help us with changing diapers, check on Sawyer if he is crying, bring me a paci, touch him, hold him, all the things I thought he would do! I am sure they are going to be great friends one day... and probably even be worst enemies on days too!!!

It is so nice when the nurses get finished with all the necessary
poking and prodding and you get to hold your baby again!
I love this picture of all of us!

Sawyer's fan club!

Mrs. Kendra and the boys!

I just had to include this picture because Kendra was the nurse that delivered both Hayden and Sawyer. It was so crazy when I walked in the door and saw she was going to be my nurse again. It wasn't like we were friends and she made a point to be there or anything, it was just one of those crazy things that happens sometimes. Cool huh?!? I loved her the first time with Hayden and loved her even more the second time around with Sawyer. She made getting through the painful parts so much easier and we always have a great time chatting! I was so lucky to get blessed with having her there again. I told her if we have another baby to be ready because the hospital is going to get a call requesting her to be there!:)

Sawyer's first bath!

Oh, and I just had to include this picture of Hayden's first bath
because I couldn't believe how similar they looked!

Not too happy after that bath... I'm pretty
sure he wanted his Momma back!:)

I just love this picture of Sawyer with his Gigi! So cute!

Big Brother Hayden!

Sawyer's first dose of medicine!

One is Sawyer and one is Hayden... the
question is can you tell who is who?!?

Ready for discharge...

Ankle bracelet away... Home here we come!!!

Ready for his first car ride!

And this is how we were greeted when we arrived home from the hospital! It was so nice driving up and seeing everyone so excited to see us coming home! Oh, and I loved Hayden's little chair with the balloons... Gigi said it was all his idea!:)

So cute and sweet I couldn't hardly stand it!

We were so lucky to have our good friend Kahlia meet us at the hospital and take pictures of Sawyer's birth for us. You can see more of her work here... she is great! With her camera and the 15 others we had there I'm pretty sure we caught it all on camera! I will always treasure the pictures... they are perfect! I even made a little slide show using some of the pictures to tell Sawyer's birth story...

Thank you to everyone who has helped us the past few weeks with meals, and a special thank you to my Mom(Gigi) and Gran who have been so helpful with the boys. They have really helped us to get used to life with two and we are so thankful to have had their help. Although Gigi is not here anymore, she was here enough over the past few weeks that Hayden still looks all around the house and calls for his Gigi daily, and I am pretty sure Sawyer dreams of having Gran hold him all day! They were like a gift sent directly from God! Sawyer is a great baby and Hayden is going to be a great big brother. We can't wait to see what life has in store for us now that we have two!!!:)
