9 months of Pure Joy!

Loving life!

Happy 9 Month Birthday to our sweet baby Sawyer! Smiling is a given, laughter is very often and open mouth kisses are a constant around here these days thanks to Sawyer. He turns bad days good and makes your face hurt from smiling so much. He is pure joy. Plain and simple. Perfection. He lives life like you are supposed to live it... full of happiness. As you can imagine, his likes at month 9 WAY outnumber the other lists!

What Sawyer Likes:
- His Brother - I know you think I listed this first because I want it to be at the top of his "like" list, but that is so not true. It is here because it truly is his number one. He just cannot get enough of Hayden. Loves him! If for some reason Sawyer is upset or something(very rare by the way) I can call Hayden into the room and it makes everything all better. It is so sweet to watch them play together and love on each other. And by loving on each other I do mean push and hit each other sometimes too!:) After all, they are boys!

Aren't they just the cutest?!?

So, SO sweet...

- Mirrors - This is so funny! He gets such a kick out of being in front of a mirror. His little piano entertainer has a mirror attached and he will play with it for what seems like forever. He will just talk to himself and laugh at himself. So cute! Put him in front of a "real" mirror and he is just in heaven!
- His Jumper - He likes this thing as much now as he did when we first introduced him to it. He just jumps and jumps. Super cute! I can remember Hayden loving it too, but I think Sawyer enjoys it even more than Hayden did! Maybe because he always has Hayden and Woody jumping along with him! So fun!

Love this pic!

Peek-A-Boo Mommy!

- His Big Boy Car Seat - His car riding experience is officially changed forever! That's right, we finally moved him to his big boy car seat and he is loving it. He has so much more room to move around now. Funny thing is he is usually asleep in 2.5 seconds instead of doing any moving around! I guess the extra room to stretch out makes him want to take more cat naps!:)

Don't you just love the cow print?!?

So happy!

- Teething Toys - This also includes his fingers and toes! Yes, teething toys are not just limited to "toys" around here! Sawyer makes anything a teething toy. He puts any and EVERY thing into his mouth. We have to be very careful around here. If it is in reach, it will be in his mouth in seconds! Funny thing is, the two fingers he used to have in his mouth at all times have pretty much disappeared since the arrival of the teeth. I kind of miss those two cute little fingers being in there!

The perfect example of a toy he decided to turn into a teether!:)

So cute!

- Sydney - He pretty much likes all animals, especially touching them, but Sydney is by far his favorite. He just loves her. Loves to pet her/pull her hair(a little scary at times, but for the most part she tolerates it), play with her, give her kisses and mostly loves to watch her chase after her toys. He laughs the entire time which in turn will have us laughing in no time!
- Waving and Giving High Fives - He is just starting to do both of these and is loving it. Sometimes I will be holding him and he just puts his hand up as if to say... "Gimmie 5!" It is super cute, but it is also a constant reminder of how fast the time goes by.

"Hi, Mommy!"

I didn't quite catch his wave on camera here,
but it still made for a cute pic!

- TV - I have to list this because it is true. He is watching TV pretty much every time Hayden is watching. Usually 1 or 2 shows a day. He loves the Baby Einstein movies just like Hayden did, but truthfully he likes just about everything. He just likes the TV. I guess we are just a TV watching family. I LOVE it, so it comes as no surprise the boys like it as well! It is just funny because I really don't let them watch very much, but when they do they thoroughly enjoy it!:)
- Eating - Well, to begin with I must mention here that Sawyer decided to quit breastfeeding during month 8, so it is formula only for his liquid intake now. Although I was ready to stop, I was still kind of sad when he decided to be done. It was literally overnight. He just stopped. Crazy right?!? At least he's happy with his formula! He is also absolutely loving his baby food... especially when his brother is feeding him! I swear he eats it better from him than he does from us! His favorites at the moment are sweet potatoes and apples. Especially sweet potatoes with cinnamon! I think he has a sweet tooth like his Momma! The one thing he just does not like is peas, but that comes as no surprise. None of us really like peas. Luckily, when we mix it with the other foods he gobbles it right up. If only it were that easy with Hayden!:)

Loving his bottle!

Yes, Hayden even helps with that sometimes!

But he is mostly in charge of the baby food feeding.
I love Sawyer's wide open mouth, Hayden's
concentration and the food falling off the
spoon as it makes its way to Sawyer's
mouth!:) So funny!

One thing is for sure... Sawyer gets his bite!

And he loves that it comes from his brother!

He watches him every step of the way...

And is one full, happy boy when it is all over!

- Talking - "Da-da, da-da, da-da" is still his favorite and most common word, but he has added a few new words including "hey" and "yum." He has yet to add "Momma" to his vocabulary, but you know I am saying it a million times a day to help him add it!:) It is just so sweet that first time they say your name!
- Being Outside - It can be in our backyard playing with a playball, the park or even at a cookout. As long as it's outside he is happy. We usually go to the park during the day which he absolutely loves. Although he can't slide down by himself, I do "help" him so he can have the experience and of course he loves it. He also really, really loves the swing. We just started putting him on the swing a little bit ago, but the way he wants you to push him higher and higher makes you think he has been swinging for months. He loves it.

So fun!

Outside and happy... even in a basket!:)

I think he enjoyed the view as much as I did!

Fun times on the slide...

In the swing...

And playing with his ball!

He threw his ball and couldn't retrieve it
immediately which made him so
mad!
I personally think it is the
cutest mad face ever!

And I love when he makes this face!

The smile that can change your day!

Love those eyes!

- Bath Time - This is always a fun time in our house, and Sawyer is loving it as much as ever. He is starting to splash everywhere which is super cute, and he loves when he gets a bubble bath. Oh, and I must not forget, he really loves eating all the bath toys... surprise, surprise!

Loving it!

My little frog prince!

- His Blocks - He can't quite get the right shapes in the right holes, but he sure has fun trying. Most of the time he just has fun banging them together!

Picking out the perfect one...

Great choice Saw!

- Making a Mess - That's right, probably one of his favorite things to do is to dump out all of his toys at once. Not my favorite activity because he hasn't learned to clean them all up yet, but of course I let him do it because he just loves it! I'm pretty sure the toys wouldn't be as much fun to play with if they weren't a huge mess on the floor! Hayden definitely taught him this fun activity and they have a blast doing it together. It creates hours and hours of joy and laughter!

You can't deny the fact that this is one happy little boy!

I think he spotted the toy he wanted next!

Loving being in the middle of his mess!

- Stroller Rides - Loves it. I am super glad this is a like, because it makes running errands so much easier! He is literally "along for the ride!"

Relaxed and loving it!

The most "chill" baby ever!

You can't get much happier than this!

What Sawyer Dislikes:
- Teething - I had to think of something to put in this category, and he definitely hates getting in those teeth! They just really bother him. By the way, that second tooth I was telling you about in the previous post... it is here! Thank goodness. Maybe he will get a break for a little while before any others try to come in and bother him!

What Sawyer is not sure about:
- Crawling - Just like his brother, he doesn't seem to want to crawl. I am guessing he will do just like Hayden and start doing it after he walks!:) I know it is my fault because I don't really put him down very often, but what can I say... I just love to hold him! At his 9 month appointment Dr. Papciak asked us what he did to get from point A to B and my response was "he doesn't get from point A to B!" That is the truth after all. He is completely content sitting right where you leave him and playing. After all, he knows Hayden or I will bring him what he needs!:) I promised Dr. P I would give him more tummy time so he could have the opportunity to crawl if he wanted to, so I'm sure it won't be long before he is maneuvering himself from A to B!!!

This is about as close as he gets...

But he sure is proud of himself!

- Bedtime and Napping - I guess I should have put the actual going to sleep part, because he sleeps great once he gets asleep. He is just not always happy to have to go down. It is funny because Hayden always(and still does for the most part) loved when it was time to get in his bed, but Sawyer is just not that way. It doesn't matter how tired he is, he still does about 30 seconds of crying before he decides to get comfortable. As long as you stay in his room and give him a little back rub or pat on him bottom he is fine, but he does not like for you to just drop him and leave! At least he likes to stay asleep once he is down. He sleeps 12 hours at night and usually takes at least one 2 hour nap during the day. Thank goodness for our good sleepers!

We feel so blessed to have Sawyer in our lives and we are having so much fun watching him grow up. At his 9 month check up he weighed in at 17 pounds, 12.2 ounces(10th percentile) and was 27 and 1/2 inches tall(25th percentile)! He's our sweet little guy that we love every.single.inch of!

Love this boy!

Big Events, A Belly Cast and... A TOOTH!!!!

I am so proud to be able to introduce you to the infamous tooth that we never thought would make its way through the gum...

Sawyer's first tooth!

That's right, back on May 14th(yes I know the actual day!) Sawyer's first tooth finally made its entrance! For us this was a HUGE deal. Our little guy has had a time trying to get this tooth in and we were starting to think it was never going to show itself, but Mr. Tooth worked hard and pushed his way up! Although it is not all the way up yet, you can finally see it and feel it. So cute! I would say that second tooth you can see trying to break through will be here anytime, but as long as it took for this first one to actually make it through I don't think I'll make any predictions about tooth #2! Remember Hayden's first tooth? I had such a different story behind his first tooth. As a matter of fact I never even knew it was on its way. Crazy how different those pesky little teeth can be! Back when I noticed his first tooth coming in I told you I acted a fool and Hayden probably didn't even know why because he never even acted like he knew the tooth was coming. It never bothered him one little bit. I have since asked Hayden if he remembers how crazy I acted that day at the restaurant and it doesn't seem like it made an impact on him at all. No memory of my craziness whatsoever. Phew! We do however cheer for Sawyer and tell him how great it is to see his first tooth all.the.time so by the time he can talk he might have a different opinion on the crazy factor! Don't worry, I'll give you an update when he lets us know. In the meantime we'll just keep telling him how excited we are for his first tooth! I know you have heard enough about the tooth, so on to the rest of the post. It is actually a few links to old posts that I never got around to posting back in the day. All fun events, just posts I had to skip over because I got crazy busy and couldn't get my act together to get them up here! I know... incredibly terrible of me. But, a little portion of my catch up is finally over... you do not have to wait any longer! Here they are, ready to view! Enjoy!

Belly Cast...

He's A Ramblin' Wreck From Georgia Tech!

Run, Ring Bearer, Run!

Admit it... that was fun! It's not everyday you are reminded to go back and catch up on what your blogger never got around to post!:) Well, I guess I should have said I hope it was fun, because I am going to have to do it again soon to continue my catch up! Hang with me though... a new, RECENT post will be coming to you soon!!!
