Hayden and Company...

Over the past couple of days I have captured some pics of Hayden with family and friends. I even got some with his first little girlfriend so I just had to share them! We love getting together with everyone and it seems like Hayden is getting used to all the picture taking!

Bath Time

One of my favorite times of the day is bath time. Hayden gets so relaxed and seems to really enjoy it... well that is now he does. When we first brought him home from the hospital he was scared and got really cold, but now we have learned some tricks(it's the frog Mom!) and he seems to love it.

As you can see things have really changed!! We spend about 15 minutes in the bathtub each night(unless we are in a hurry!) and do everything from washing to singing... and lots of playing! When we first brought Hayden home from the hospital he was crying when we were giving him a bath(and it was only a sponge bath 2-3 times a week then!) and I think it was mainly because he was so cold. We were giving him his bath in his tub, but bringing it downstairs to the kitchen which is cooler than his bathroom, where he gets baths now. Also, my Mom and I found this frog towel called bath luve' that Matt and I use to cover his body when we are washing his hair, etc. He absolutely loves it! It keeps him warm and he can hold on to it which I think he likes.

I couldn't write a blog about bath time without including Sydney, but I must note that she HATES taking a bath! Completely opposite from Hayden, she gets tense and extremely crazy when she enters the bathtub. When giving Syd a bath you are basically playing "catch" for 20 minutes trying to get her clean. I used to get in the bathtub with her because it was just so much easier than chasing her around the tub, but now Matt or I use the same little knee pad as we do for Hayden and just try to get it done quickly!

Sydney getting shampooed!

One thing they both seem to have in common is the ability to completely drench the person giving the bath! Everyone needs a towel when it is over, but for the most part we have all had fun and gotten clean at the same time!

A December to Remember

I know we are in January now, but I figured I would play a little catch up and get everyone up to speed on what happened in December! After Hayden was born things around here were so crazy. I had no idea just how much time and energy it would take to have a newborn. My old life was out the window and my new life had begun. Now don't get me wrong I love my new life, but boy is it different from my old one. For those of you who know me well, you know what a busy body I am. I could get 100 things done in just one day. Those days are OVER! When we first brought Hayden home from the hospital all I could get done in a day was feed the baby, change the baby, help the baby sleep, feed the baby, change the baby... you get the drift. It consumed every minute of every day and I was a little overwhelmed. I don't know what I would have done if it weren't for Matt. He basically had the whole month of December off from work and was the biggest help in the world. He changed almost all of the dirty diapers as well as helped keep me sane! We loved having little Hayden in our life but it felt like we didn't get to have a single minute to ourselves or with each other until... my sweet sister Elizabeth came to babysit for us one day. It wasn't just an hour that she let us get away, it was an entire day and we really needed it. Hayden and Auntie Tiz had so much fun together and it was such and blessing for Matt and I.

Hayden and Auntie Tiz

Everyday with Hayden I love him more and more and it gets much easier... it was just a little crazy at first! Christmas came and went so fast and was so much fun. Hayden and Sydney even got to see Santa! We loved getting to spend time with our family and Hayden really loved all the attention.

Since Christmas things around here have slowed down a bit, and we have been able to get a little more back to normal. Matt went back to work at the end of December, and hopefully I will start back part time shortly. Now that I am home more(from work that is), I get to see what Sydney did all day when Matt and I were gone. She sleeps ALL the time. I kid you not, if you don't hear or see her for a minute you can bet that she is either asleep on the couch, in her bed or under our bed... but no matter where she is, she is definitely sleeping! Hayden is pretty much on a predictable schedule now which is nice. Sometimes he gets a little off, but for the most part I know what is going to happen and when! It is much nicer this way because I can actually get some things done when he is napping. He is 7 weeks old now(time is flying) and is growing so fast. We don't have another doctors appointment for a couple of weeks, but I will let you know his new weight/length then. He has been holding his head up and loving to look at lights since the day he was born, but he is getting so much better at it now. He is starting to smile a lot more and has even laughed out loud quite a few times! Oh, and he can also do jumping jacks and do the twist and shout(these are milestones you may not have known about)!! Many of you probably don't think these things are a big deal, but when you are a parent every smile and laugh just light you up! I would be writing forever and it would get boring for you to read if I posted the entire month and all his progress, but I thought this would at least help catch you up a little and give you some fun pictures to see! We have the best family and friends and are excited to share our adventures with you all.

Happy Birthday GiGi!

Today is GiGi's Birthday!! Hayden and I went to have lunch with GiGi today and boy was it fun. Hayden loves car rides, and we went all the way to Lenox! It is nice just to get out of the house, but it is extra special when we get to see GiGi. We went to On the Border which was a good lunch and then we went to the mall for a little bit. Hayden is quite a little shopper, just like his Mommy! He was with us all day and was just a blast to be with. At the end of the day we even made a trip to Auntie May's! It is about time for bath and bed so I'll try to write a little more tomorrow when I have more time. Happy Birthday GiGi!

The blogging world...

As you can see from Matt, we have decided to start a blog so that we can keep everyone updated on our family life. We are not really sure how successful we will be but we are definitely going to try! As you all know, on December 1, 2008 we had our first little baby boy, Hayden Thomas Ronn!! He was 8 pounds, 8 ounces and 21 inches long... quite a big boy! Hopefully this blog will be a way for us to show everyone how much he is changing and how fast he is doing it!! Let me just start with a few pictures of him in his cradle...

Hayden at 1 week

Hayden at 6 weeks

As I am sure you could have guessed, he graduated from the cradle to the crib! He is now weighing in at 11 pounds, 5 and 1/2 ounces and measuring in at 22 and 1/4 inches. I was so sad the day I had to move him out of our room, but I knew it was going to be better sleep for him since he was actually going to be able to move!! As it turns out, it is better sleep for everyone and he is actually sleeping a good 7-8 hours a night! I have quite a different story for during the day, but that is for another blog on another day! Overall, we feel so lucky to have such a sweet, perfect(I know you don't think he's perfect, but I do!!) little boy. I am hoping to be able to blog more often now that I have it started(that was the hard part!!) so keep checking back or follow our blog.

Trying to Start a Blog of our Family.

I really have no idea what we are doing. We just wanted to have a site where our family and friends could go to see what has been happening with us. I will write more later, but just wanted to get started.
