I can't believe Hayden is 12 weeks old...

Sorry it has been a little while since the last update, but things have been a bit crazy around here. Hayden turned 12 weeks old today and I just can't believe it. It seems like time is flying!! So much changes with Hayden everyday. He is keeping us SUPER busy! Over the past few weeks I have been noticing more and more of a personality coming out in him which has been fun(and at times challenging)! He definitely knows what he likes and dislikes....

What Hayden likes:
-Meal time - The boy can eat... this is definitely his #1!
-Walking - as seen in the previous post!
-Sucking his fist
-Holding/sucking his lovie
-Being held facing the world - so he can see everything
-Bath time
-Smiling/Laughing
-Talking/Cooing - especially when you talk back!
-Mornings - just like his Mommy!
-Mirrors - he loves seeing himself!!!!
-Bright lights - this might even be a LOVE!
-His swing and his bouncer
-Watching/helping Sydney play with her toys
-Riding in the car
-Attention - this may be a LOVE as well!
-Strolling - he usually falls asleep when we go on walks, so I consider it a like!
-Bedtime - I know it's weird but he really loves going to bed(if you try to put him to bed late he even lets you know you have waited too long!!)

What Hayden dislikes:
-Burping - so he loves eating, but he hates the burping part
-Tummy time
-Being held like a "baby" - unless he is tired, in which case it helps him get to sleep
-Putting on lotion after his bath
-Having a dirty diaper - he lets you know the minute it is dirty, and expects to be changed immediately!
-Late afternoons - this is the time he is most fussy
-Sydney giving him kisses - he gets the cute pout on his face when she does this!
-Being buckled into his car seat - loves the ride, hates getting ready for it!
-Alone time - if he is awake he does not even want to swing alone, he wants you to watch him swing!!!
-Nap time - contrary to bedtime, the child does not enjoy naps(I think he thinks he may miss something!!)

What Hayden is not sure about:
- His pacifier - one minute he NEEDS it, the next he is spitting it out!
- Taking pictures - one day I am certain he loves the camera and the next I am certain he hates it(maybe it is just me going crazy!!!)
- Church - so far he cries as soon as we enter the building(very embarrassing I might add!!), but seems to like the music okay!
- Visitors - sometimes he likes them and sometimes not so much!!
- His tummy/play mats - maybe he just has to get used to them?!?

Well, now that you know just about all there is to know about Hayden at 12 weeks, I guess you want to see him!

Look at my tongue Mama!

I think he was doing the itsy bitsy spider here...

Hayden mid-sneeze!!!

Reaching to give his Mommy a hug on Valentine's Day(at least that's what I like to think!)

Obviously Hayden and Sydney were not too excited about taking this pic!

Hayden's "first" steps!!!

This was too cute for me not to share with everyone! The other day we were finally able to catch a video of what I like to call Hayden's "first" steps!

We really do think it is pretty amazing how well he picks up that left leg! How in the world did he know how to do that? One day we were just standing him in front of the mirror and off he went towards it... I guess he just wanted to get to that person he was seeing in the mirror! We never taught him to pick up his legs and move, it must have just been "baby" instinct. Whatever it was, we thought it was the cutest thing ever and wanted to share it with all of you! I have also been taking quite a few pictures lately, so I will post some of those for you to see as well. He is so funny taking pictures. He will be smiling and everything will be going great, then all of a sudden... chaos. He definitely knows when he wants to be finished! He has even fallen asleep during a photo shoot with Sydney!!

I'm getting tired Mama...

My big yawn

And that's all I've got...

Awake after my bath!

Asleep after my bath!

It looks like a pattern is developing here, huh?!? Matt and I get the biggest kick out of these pictures because we are literally snapping them one after the other and one minute he is smiling and the next he is asleep! I'm starting to think I should begin photo sessions when I need him to take a nap!!! We also took some cute pics during the Superbowl so I included a few of them below... enjoy!

Happy Birthday _____!!!

Today is Pawpaw/Grandaddy's birthday! We had everyone over yesterday to celebrate but we still had to give him a Happy Birthday wish on the blog! For those of you that don't know, my Dad is still trying to decide what he wants to be called. He says he is going to let Hayden decide, so I guess it will be a while before he has an "official" name. Until then we like to call him both! Our celebration was a lot of fun, and we really enjoyed the company. It is so funny because Hayden will be so fussy, but as soon as his Pawpaw(that's my choice!) picks him up he is as happy as can be. He usually falls asleep in his arms. Whatever it is that he does Hayden loves it, so we are always happy when they can come over and help out! I will post some more pics later in the week but gotta go for now. Happy Birthday Pawpaw/Grandaddy!

Do I get a piece of that cake?!?

9 Weeks and Counting

Hayden turned 9 weeks yesterday, and today was his two month check-up at the pediatricians office. Everything was great... he even got his first set of shots! He weighed in at a whopping 12 pounds, 13 and 1/2 ounces and measured 24 inches. He is still our BIG boy! According to the doctor he is right on track, so we are very proud of his progress! We took a few pictures at the office so you can see how drastically things changed for Hayden from the beginning of the office visit to the end. He was just as happy as could be until he realized he was in a strange place with strange people trying to stick him! It was sad seeing his little face when he had to get his shots... it almost made you want to cry with him. The good thing is we all made it through it!

Waiting on Dr. Papciak...

I hate shots!

My war wounds!

Just a few other tidbits and I'll wrap this up. Hayden has started "talking" to us quite a bit now. It is so much fun when he "talks", we just don't have a clue what he is saying! It is fun to guess what he is trying to say and talk back to him. I like to call them our baby conversations! He is also smiling and laughing all the time which I can't get enough of. He seems to be a morning person just like his Momma! When he gets up in the morning he is literally the "happiest baby on the block!" He smiles and laughs more right after waking up than any other time of the day. I absolutely love it. He is also really into blowing bubbles which is both cute and messy. Two things I always have nearby in the house right now are the burp cloth and the camera!

Napping and blowing bubbles!
