Boot Scootin' Sawyer

Oh, I just love our little scootin' Sawyer. He is just the cutest thing ever! Right around 10 months old, Sawyer decided to start scootn' everywhere as his mode of transportation. Remember on his 9 month post when I told you I had to tell Dr. Papciak "Sawyer doesn't get from point A to point B... he is content at point A!" Well, now... not so much. He is a fast little scooter! I never thought he would crawl, simply because he never showed signs of being interested in crawling. Well that and the fact that Hayden never crawled either! But, I certainly never dreamed up the scoot either. Remember the Rockin' and Rollin' video of Hayden? This is definitely as funny! Who knows why my kids don't crawl... the mystery remains unsolved! I will say the things they do to get around sure are more interesting than the crawl though! Maybe that is why it takes them so long to get moving as well... they are thinking about what they want to do since the crawl is so boring!:) Ha, ha! Scoot, Sawyer, Scoot...

Oh, that dance at the end just gets me every time... so funny! He's a happy little thing scootin' and we sure do enjoy watching him! The parts where he stops to cheer for himself or dance crack me up! Oh, and he's pretty good at throwing a ball just like his big brother huh?!? That is one thing they actually enjoy sharing every once and a while... the ball! They have the best time throwing and rolling it to each other! I'm sure it won't be too much longer before they are running around together as well. But, for now we are enjoying having one not quite so mobile yet! Keep on scootin' Sawyer... it makes Momma laugh!:)

1,683 Feet Above Sea Level...

And as happy as can be!:)

Can you guess where we were?!? That's right... Stone Mountain! Last week we decided to take a day trip to Stone Mountain, and although it was close to 1 million degrees outside we had a great time! The highlight of the day was most definitely our trip to the top of the mountain... all 1,683 feet. And yes, we took the Summit Skyride to the top. The swiss cable car seemed like a much better option than hiking up the mountain with the boys! Our day for the hike will come soon enough... I'm sure of it!:) It was so nice up at the top. There was the nicest breeze the entire time which made it so much more enjoyable. Sawyer had so much fun just sitting and taking in all of the gorgeous scenery. He loved every minute we spent up there! Hayden had more fun throwing the rocks he found atop Stone Mountain than enjoying the scenery, but hey what can you expect from a two year old TOTAL boy?!? He even decided to keep some of the rocks he found in his pocket so that he could bring them home. Are we two lucky parents or what?!? Ha! He also thoroughly enjoyed jumping from one "big" rock to another. "Vwatch, Mommy, vwatch!" is what I would hear each and every time a new jump was going to be made. So fun! I really can't wait to go back up there and have some more fun soon!

Right before a big jump! Go Hayden!:)

Sawyer LOVED trying to scoot around on top of the mountain!:)

Family fun way up high!

Ready to throw one of those famous rocks I was telling you about!

Teaching Sawyer the art of collecting and throwing rocks!:)

I was not kidding when I told you he kept the rocks!!!

Ready to explore...

Testing out his mountain walking skills!

Off to find some more rocks...

AND, throw some more rocks of course!:)

Sawyer wanted so bad for Hayden's shoe to be
his teething toy for the moment. Don't
worry, I didn't let him try it out!

So cute!

Another Stone Mountain favorite of ours is most definitely the Scenic Railroad. This was Sawyer's first trip on the train and he had an absolute blast. It was probably the thing I was most excited about because I knew there would be a breeze!:) Little did I know how little the breeze actually was. I guess my memory of this ride in the past did not serve me well. I mean the breeze did blow, it just wasn't very much. It was still VERY hot aboard the train! It was however fun for everyone...

Having a blast on his first trip on the Scenic Railroad!

So much so he ended his ride like this!!! Lucky boy huh?!?
Poor Daddy sweating to death!

The train...

Hayden has taken the ride before and loved it, and this time was just the same...

He even took the time to enjoy some of the scenery this time around!

Sweet little smile...

Sawyer had a death grip on this railing the entire ride. He would
literally cry if Daddy tried to take him away from it for a
minute. I guess he wanted to make sure he was
going to be able to see out!

They were having fun together before the train even took off!

Fun times with Mommy!

Love those chunky cheeks!

Up next was The Great Barn. Probably the best place at Stone Mountain during the dead heat of the summer. Yep... it is indoors and has air conditioning! It truly is a lot of fun for the kiddos. There are slides, soft balls, areas to climb and other fun little games for the kids. There is even a 4 story slide, but Hayden will have to wait until next year for that one because he wasn't quite tall enough this year!:) Even Sawyer had fun throwing the balls all over the place!

Throwing the balls down this slide and then zooming down
to chase them provided Hayden with TONS of fun!

And Sawyer enjoyed watching and throwing some balls of his own!

Fun times!

Even Daddy had fun doing this slide with Hayden!:)

Happy boy!

Does that look like fun or what?!?

And Daddy definitely had as much fun with these
blasters as the boys did! You could load
and shoot the balls across the barn...

Hayden didn't have to watch Daddy too many
times before he was doing it on his own!:)

One of the games they had for the kids to play.
Hayden loved trying to flip the apples.
He was actually pretty good at it!

We also played a few holes of mini golf...

And even tried watching the Yogi Bear 4D Adventure...

But, Hayden had more fun running up and down this ramp than either of those!

Truthfully, it was way too hot to be attempting mini golf. Hayden probably could have played all 18 holes because he was having a blast, but Sawyer, Daddy and I were dying a slow death with that awful heat! So, we made golf a short event and told Hayden we would do it another time when it wasn't quite so hot. The heat didn't seem as bad on the train and definitely not on top of the mountain because of the breeze, but during golf it seemed terrible. As for the 4D show... we made it through about 3 of the 12 minutes. As much as Hayden loves TV you would think he would be so into this, but he is scared to death of the huge screen and the effects that come along with the 4D. I'm sure it won't be long before he is wanting to do it more than once in a day, but for now we just did the 3 minutes!:) The last event for the day was...

The Lasershow!!

We decided we would attempt the lasershow this year and I am so glad we did. It was as packed as I have ever seen it, but fun as always. Although both boys fell asleep before the show even got started good, they both thoroughly enjoyed all the music and dancing leading up to the show! So fun!

Ready for the show!

Just dance!

I am not kidding when I tell you Hayden danced around to the music for at least a full hour. He had the time of his life out there dancing up a storm...

And Sawyer had fun watching him and
doing a little dancing of his own!

Making sure Momma was "vwatchin" him clap to the beat!
"Vwatch this Momma, vwatch this!"

I don't think the teething is ever going to stop in this house!:)

Occasionally you can catch Sawyer finding that
thumb he used to love so much!

And you can find Woody pretty much everywhere we go these days!

Hayden even stood on his tippy toes to make
sure Woody could see what was going on!
I think he thought their eyes
were at the same level!!!

I'm pretty certain Woody has never
had a friend like Hayden!:)

Enjoying the show...

REALLY enjoying the show!:)

I'm pretty sure they still talk to each other
about the show every now and then!:)

How could you not love that face?!?

Bye, bye Stone Mountain! We'll see you again soon!
