Snip, snip, snip!

Playing at the wooden train table... PRE-Haircut!

We finally did it... we got Hayden's hair cut! It only took us a little over 13 months, it was January 22, 2010 to be exact! And, I must add, it is the cutest little haircut ever! We have been wanting to get it cut a little over a month now, but we are just now getting around to it. Actually, we went about a month ago and once we got to the salon I(I should say "we" because Matt didn't want to go through with it either!) chickened out. I swear the lady wouldn't have done a good job and we wanted it to be a good first experience for Hayden. So glad we waited by the way. New place... much better stylists(because you know that really mattered for a first haircut), better chairs for the little man, and even a fun play area! Ms. Andrea at Pigtails and Crewcuts down in Buckhead did a great job. We were very pleased. And yes, you read that right, we went all the way to Buckhead to get his hair cut. Pathetic, I know... but I just had to make sure it was a good place. We had heard the Pigtails and Crewcuts near us didn't do the greatest job, so we just hightailed it downtown! Maybe next time we'll give this Cumming location a try!:) At least the drive paid off, Hayden seemed to like his first experience... he never even shed a tear. He got to sit in the cutest little airplane and watch The Incredibles during his cut and that seemed to keep his attention. I mean, the whole entire cut was less than 10 minutes... a simple snip, snip, snip, but I'm sure that could have seemed like an eternity to him. I was so surprised he was so good, but I think he was ready to get that hair out of his face just as much as we were!!!:) Of course I took pictures, but they even took a picture for us too which was sweet. They put it in the cutest little folder with a lock of his hair and a "first haircut" certificate! So cute! Now we have the lock of hair safely in its "first haircut" container. I'm sure Hayden will be dying to see it one day!!!:)

Doesn't this make it look like one of those old-timey barber shop photos?
This was the very first picture I took and I think it is so cute.
He was really checking out Ms. Andrea and making
sure she was going to do a good job!:)

Look how long that hair was!!! Oh, and please take a good look
at his very first(but not last I am sure!) busted lip.
He fell and busted it on the coffee table.
Aaoowwwww weeeee!:(

Good thing they had on The Incredibles!:)

His certificate of bravery! And yes, he did smile and
clap for Ms. Andrea, but no such luck for Momm
y!

Safe and sound! The inside actually says "The First Haircut of The Prince"
but I just couldn't manage to get it all in the picture!

Our little man with his new do! Well, the same do, but shorter!:)
How funny is this face he is making?!?

SNOW Mountain!!!

All bundled up and ready for a good time!

That's right... Stone Mountain turns into SNOW Mountain during the winter! No laser show, just snow! This past weekend we took Hayden for his very first trip to Snow Mountain, and it was oh so fun! Matt and I went last year without him, so it was exciting to get to take him along with us this year. A few of our neighbors even made the trip with us! Oh, and what a difference a year makes at Snow Mountain. Upgrades, upgrades! Matt and I had fun last year and all we did was tube. Much more fun with a little one! It was a blast getting to watch Hayden ride down the little "kiddie" hill in a sled. I think it was probably even more fun for the adults that got to watch Matt and I take turns cramming ourselves into the kid-size sled with him to try to help make his experience a fun one! We didn't exactly fit in the sled(nor were we supposed to try... oops!), but we sure had fun! Hayden wasn't crazy about it the first time down, but after a couple of times he seemed to enjoy it. One thing he really didn't like was walking in the snow. He didn't even like us to be holding him and walk through the snow. We think it was because it was so unsteady. He just didn't want to fall, and didn't want us to fall while carrying him!! It wasn't until we were leaving that he actually wanted to get down and walk, and that was after we had left the area that actually had the snow! Hopefully next year he has an easier time with the walking part!:) I didn't even actually take a turn down the big hill, but Matt did and he had a great time! I'll have to make the time to fit it in next year! We tried "playing" in the snow, but weren't too successful with that. Definitely building a snowman next time! I did manage to get some cute pics... Hayden looks hilarious all bundled up!

Snow Mountain 2009...

Snow Mountain 2010!!!

This was a pic of Matt and I getting ready to tube down the hill last year!

And here we are in 2010!!! Funny how things change in a year huh?!?
Please note Hayden's face in each of these pictures...I'm thinking
these were taken before he warmed up to the idea of sledding!!:)

We thought it would be a good idea to let him try it by himself...

But I'm not too sure we were right about that idea!!!
I promise I'm not telling a story when I say he did
enjoy it at one point during the day!:)

The whole gang... FUN!

I think this picture is so funny... the kids were so bundled up
I don't even think they could smile, much less move!!!

The BIG kids going tubing!!!

The girls...

I had to include these pictures because this is what Hayden's hair
looked like after we finally took his hat off in the car!
Notice the indention on his forehead...
think the hat was a little tight?!?

I told you he walked around... just not until we were
leaving and there was no snow in sight!

I'm pretty sure he stayed warm... well except for his hands.
I'm not kidding when I tell you they were freezing.
I guess we'll have to get better gloves for next time!

Thank you Stone Mountain for turning into Snow Mountain for the winter.
We can't wait to come back and visit next year!

One year ago today...

The Ronn's joined the blogging world! I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't really know what to expect when I first started, but I did it because I knew I would enjoy looking back on it. It was actually Matt's great idea, and I tell him quite often it has been one of the greatest things he has ever suggested!:) I really like having everything documented and love that our friends and family get to be a part of our everyday lives. When I first started I didn't really know how long it would last... a week, a month, a few months. I would have never guessed I would still be doing it a year later, but it looks like I'm here to stay. At least for a while that is. I'm sure the day will come when it's over and I honestly thought that day would have already been here, but I have surprised myself(and probably a lot of you) and kept right on blogging!! Thanks to our friend Rebecca we are even going to have the blog printed each year. Rebecca also has a blog and she found out about this site, Blurb, that will print your blog for you. She shared the info with us and we are so excited. I can't wait to have our yearly blog in a hardback book to keep forever. It's going to be a REAL book that tells a real story... our story!:) It's amazing to look back over just one little year.... especially with a new life in the picture. Remember my very first blog? You can see it here: The blogging world.... It was back when Hayden had graduated from his cradle to his crib, and he was 6 weeks old. Now, he's 13 months old and I'm blogging about him graduating from crawling to walking! Crazy huh?!? A lot happens in a year!!! I've had fun sharing part of our lives with you through the blog and look forward to many more posts in the future. For now, I've got some cute standing and walking pictures for ya, and even and few Sydney pics! Enjoy!

Happiest boy I know!!

I see you Mommy...

Racing for the fridge magnets!

We finally took Hayden and Sydney to the Big Creek Greenway Trail
today and I snapped a few pics! I don't know what he was looking
at but something definitely caught his eye. The greenway was
a ton of fun by the way... we can't wait to go back!

YES, he still grits those teeth!

Look at me, look at me!

Walking and talking... what Hayden does best!

Sydney had a big time on our walk... she
especially loved looking over the edge!

This is the face you get right after a game of peek-a-boo when
he knows you were just playing with him to get a pic!!!
Awwww man... it was a trick!

It was so cute I just had to blow it up! That's right Hayden...
I tricked you into a game
of peek-a-boo!!!

Walking is quite possibly the cutest thing ever!

The Laugh Heard Around The World...

OK, so Hayden is our little laughing machine. He laughs out loud more than any child I have ever met in my life. And, it is the loudest laugh ever... I am sure they can hear him in China! The smallest things can get him laughing and there is no stopping the roar! It is so cute. I have been wanting to get it on video, and finally managed to make that happen recently. He laughs at Sydney(especially when she is "playing" with him by pulling off his socks), he laughs at my dancing ability, he laughs at funny faces, he laughs so hard I know his belly hurts when you tickle him, he laughs if you laugh, he laughs if you copy him(no matter what it is he is doing), he just laughs and laughs and laughs. In this video he is laughing because I am being grossed out by his smelly socks! I am literally just picking up his socks and putting them near my nose and saying "Ewwwwwww" and he is getting so tickled. Needless to say we laugh quite a bit at our house. You know I read somewhere that laughing keeps you young, so maybe Hayden is just helping to keep us young! Whatever it is, we really enjoy it! He truly is the happiest baby! Anytime you need a smile or just a little pick me up, this should give you a good laugh...

Keep laughing Hayden, we love it!

I'm Walkin'...

He walks, he walks!!!:) And he is SOOOO proud of himself! So proud he even let me get a video of it! It's like he wants the whole world to know... "I'm walkin' people!" It is so cute to watch, especially because he talks the entire walk. I'm telling you, he's shouting "I'm walkin', I'm walkin'!" Oh, and seeing him walk from behind is even cuter. Remember the very first video I have of him walking?!? Just in case you forgot, you can see it again here... Hayden's "first" steps! So cute!! Only about one year later and we have his actual first steps! He still uses crawling(I'll add here that we did finally graduate from the army crawl a few months back, I just never got around to uploading the video... Sorry!) or cruising as his main source of mobility, but he is starting to let go and actually walk more and more now. Cutest thing I have ever seen. There is just something about when they take those first steps how cute it looks. The mix of uncertainty and fascination on his face all at the same time is just priceless. You would think I had him dressed in a snow suit the way he walks so stiff!! I also want to note here that Dr. Papciak, Hayden's pediatrician, has some sort of super human power. Quite a while back at Hayden's 6 month check-up, we were talking about mobility(crawling, scooting, cruising, walking, etc.) and Dr. Papciak just nonchalantly mentioned to us that Hayden would not walk or take those first steps until between 13 and 14 months. Well, at the time we didn't think much of it... we just kind of shook our heads and said okay. BUT, now that he took his first steps and he is right in between 13 and 14 months I am in awe. How did he know that such a long time ago?!? Crazy, right? I mean he has seen a few hundred thousand patients I am sure, but still... I can't believe it. I have always trusted what he has said to be true and valued his opinion on parenting, but this just takes it to a whole new level. He wasn't close... he was EXACTLY right!:) Maybe it's like my Dad says... he just made a lucky guess! All I know is I am going to start looking for that child leash Dr. Papciak told us we would need(back at his 12 week check-up I might add!) for the first time we decide to take Hayden to Disney, just in case it wasn't the luck! Anyways, back to the cutest walker you ever did see. I got a video of him walking earlier today and it is so cute. Don't worry, I was able to get some of the falling moments as well!!!:) So funny! Most of the time he crawls back to his starting position just to do the walking all over again, but I failed to capture this on video... I guess he didn't want to do it for the camera. At least he didn't mind walking for it! He just loves that HE can do it. And, it is all by himself!!!! Yeah, Hayden!

Balloon Launch 2009!

Getting ready for take off...

Yes you read that right... 2009! We were so busy at the end of the year I never got around to sharing our balloon launch with you so I figured better late than never! After Hayden's birthday we saved quite a few of the balloons so that we could launch them up to Heaven and boy was it fun! The "helium people" told us that the balloons would only stay blown up for around 12 hours, but 3 weeks later they were still floating at the top of the garage waiting on their launch. Either the helium people weren't too accurate, or the balloons kept hearing us telling them we were going to launch them and they just kept hanging on!:) By the looks of how much helium they had lost and how skinny they were getting, I know they could hear us. They couldn't wait to take their journey through the sky! It was a perfect day for the launch. Not too hot, not too cold, sunny but not blinding, and lots of beautiful clouds for them to play in!

Up, up, and away!!!

Bye, bye, balloons... we'll see you again someday!

Doesn't it look like they are having the best time?!?

Watching them fly through the sky...

Daddy zoomed in far to get this pic. He took it right before
the balloons disappeared into the clouds! You gotta
look close to see them. They are in the very center
of the picture on top of the white cloud.
Just playing in the sky!!!

Thanks for hanging in there and waiting on us to launch you birthday balloons! We'll see you in Heaven... be ready to play!:)

Bye, bye 2009...

Waiting for our guests to arrive... doesn't he look so
cute in this hat Auntie Tiz gave him for Christmas?!?

Hello 2010!!! Pretty hard to believe another year has gone by huh?!? Maybe 2010 won't go by quite as fast as 2009! We had a great time ringing in the new year. It is one of the few times I actually know I will be up until midnight! My parents, sister, Brad, Lee, Farrah and Banks all came over to help us celebrate and we had so much fun. We had a Rock Band party, a traditional new years meal, football, Dick Clark's New Year's Countdown (topped off with sparkling cider of course!), Travis Pastrana's New Years Jump, talking, picture taking, laughing and so much more! Hopefully the collards and black eyed peas we had at dinner are going to bring us lots and lots of money this year.... :)!

The whole gang!

One sock on, one sock off... that is how Hayden spent most of the night!!!

Fun times with Auntie Tiz...

REALLY fun times with Auntie Tiz!!!

This was meant to be a funny face pic, but at least we got a smile!:)

Like Mother, Like Daughter...

It would be an understatement to say the boys had
fun playing Rock Band... they had a BLAST!

Silly smiles...

The fam!

We love our Daddy!

Couples pics!

I had to include this phone pic of Auntie May and
Dan in Chicago... they got engaged!:) YEAH!

Last funny face pic of 2009!

Very first picture of 2010!

So cute!

2009 was a great year for us. The highlight of course... HAYDEN!!! He has been such a blessing in our lives, and we are so lucky to have such a wonderful child. He has brought an abundance of joy to our lives, and even brought smiles to the faces of strangers! We can't wait to watch his journey through 2010... it is going to be FUN! We know we will have many new adventures this year and we can't wait! Here's to wishing everyone a great year in 2010!:)
