The Thumb

Hayden found his thumb!! Yesterday morning when I went to get Hayden up he was on his side sucking his thumb. Normally I would not wake him up in the mornings, but yesterday he was sleeping so late I thought I better go in there and check on him(not just wait to hear him on the monitor!). To my surprise he was awake, just content with his little thumb. He has always sucked on his fist(well tried to that is... it is too big to fit in his mouth), but never found out that his thumb was useful until yesterday. I wasn't able to get a picture of him in his crib, but later in the day he did it again in his bouncer and I was able to get a picture that time. Hopefully I will catch him again in his crib because it is so cute. It is just as funny seeing him sleeping on his side as it is to see him sucking his thumb. You'll see in the picture of him in the bouncer he is even turned sideways... I guess I need to start using the safety belt! I don't know if it is true for anyone else with kids, but now that he has found his thumb he is sleeping so much more. He has never been good with naps, but the past two days he has slept like a champ(with thumb in mouth). It was to the point I was thinking he was getting sick or something because he was sleeping so much more than usual. I called the nurse and she told me it was normal when they first find their thumb and he may sleep more the first few days getting used to it. My Mom confirmed this so I guess I'll just be happy he is sleeping more! He must be catching up on all the sleep he was missing out on before he found his thumb was useful!!

I need my Lovie and my thumb!!

I have taken quite a few pictures of him playing with toys and even some with his friends, so I will try to get those uploaded and posted within the next few days. Even with him sleeping more, I can't seem to find much extra time!!!

This is one happy baby! I knew I saw him sucking his thumb in the womb picture even though it was a little blurry. And let me go ahead and state my earlier prediction... I believe the boy is going to be left- handed.
