Whoa, That's A BIG Punttiiinnnn...

Burt's Pumpkin Patch 2011!

We made our annual trip to Burt's last week and it was so much fun! The boys really love this place, and so do we! This year the first thing we heard when we got there was..."WHOA!"(that was from Saw) and "that's a big punttiinn"(Hayden of course!). It was like when we first walked out of the car they immediately noticed the huge pumpkins. It was so cute! As always we had a blast walking around looking at all the different pumpkins and choosing which ones we were going to take home with us. And of course I loved taking their pics with the pumpkins...

Hayden was having a great time!

And although you aren't technically supposed to sit on the
pumpkins, I couldn't resist getting this pic of Sawyer!

Which led to Hayden on top of the pumpkin of course!

Talk about a big pumpkin... was this one not gorgeous? Usually I don't even like the huge pumpkins, but this one was just so pretty to me. It looked like it was straight out of Cinderella or something. If only we had wanted to spend $80 on a pumpkin I would have totally gotten it! At least we have a picture right?!? The perfect giant pumpkin!

These pics really show how big they were! No
wonder they both kept saying "Whoa!!!"

This was the boys favorite activity... running up and down the pumpkin isles!

Of course, Sawyer wasn't taking part in the running part, but he sure had fun standing up(with the pumpkins help) and cheering his big brother on! These boys of mine crack me up. At least they were having fun right?!?

At one point they decided to have a seat and play with the
dirt/leaves/mulch they found on the ground. It
proved to be as much fun as the pumpkins!:)

But it didn't take long before they were breaking the
rules again by trying to climb the pumpkins...

And carry the pumpkins by what I like to call their "hair"!
I don't know when I started to call the pumpkins
stems their hair, but it stuck and now
I can't stop! Even Daddy
calls it their hair!

Don't worry, I didn't let them carry on too much with either of these activities. I didn't want us to get in trouble!:) They did love these activities though!!!

Well, all but the getting his hands dirty part!:)

Hayden was very proud when he found this pumpkin
he could carry properly all by himself!

Would you believe this is the family picture we got with the pumpkins?!?
So sad huh?!? Obviously they did not want to take a family pic!

But at least I got one with my sweet Sawyer!

Who also had tons of fun walking with Daddy!

We did take a pumpkin break while we were at Burt's to take a hayride and play on some hay bales which was tons of fun. The boys love hayrides, so we always try to fit that in if we can. Luckily for us, we usually get to go to Burt's on a weekday which isn't usually as busy as the weekend. So, off to the Wednesday afternoon hayride we went...

Another stellar family pic! We are getting pretty good at these huh?!?

I said before the boys loved hayrides, but apparently
this one scared Sawyer a little bit at first!

Hayden, on the other hand, was ready to go... and
also ready to throw hay on us! Yikes!

It didn't take long before Sawyer warmed up to
the ride and started enjoying himself!

As a matter of fact, they both wanted to ride it again when it was over! Of course! "Again, again!" We hear that a lot around here! We didn't ride it again, but we did go over and let them jump around on some hay bales they have set up for you to take pictures on!

The boys loved it!

Hayden would jump from the higher ones to the lower ones and then roll over and over and Sawyer would clap and cheer him on. I don't know if you can see it here good enough, but there is a little dip where two hay bales come together right in front of where Sawyer is scooting towards. He would scoot and fall in between those bales and Hayden would help him up. Over and over. It was hilarious. They were covered in hay, but they sure had fun playing! I'm pretty certain that is not what Burt's intended for you to do on those hay bales, but we couldn't take away their fun! I straightened it up when we left for the next family to take pics! Now, for our favorite part of the day....

We saw an old spider web with a dead spider in it!

We went to a pumpkin patch, rode a hayride, played on hay bales, rode in a wheelbarrow, ran up and down isles, and this old spider web topped it all. This is the memory I will keep forever. Don't get me wrong, I love the tradition of going to the same pumpkin patch(especially since it's Burt's!) and picking out our pumpkins for the season, but spotting this old spider web this year will be the part I remember. We always head over to the creek after we have finished picking out our pumpkins to throw rocks into the water, and this year was no exception.

It's where we took our final terrible family pic for the day!
Crazy right?!? Not one good pic the entire
day? Oh well, maybe next year!

It's where Hayden sat in this window frame that he always must sit in!

And it's where we spotted the spider web!

Can you tell how cool he thought it was?!?

I'm pretty sure I saw this web when going to get Sawyer from scooting across this very dirty bridge and decided to spot it out to Hayden. Apparently I was the coolest Mom ever for doing this. We had more fun pretending to be scared to touch this old dirty spider web than you could ever imagine. Of course we didn't end up touching it, and I'm secretly scared of the day these boys insist on doing that!:) But for now, it was tons of fun!

Even for Mommy!

Thanks for the old spider web Burt's! We sure had fun with it! Hayden just reminded me about it yesterday!:)

Look at all those pumpkins!

See you next year Burt's! You better get to work on growing us some more big, beautiful pumpkins!:) We can't wait for next year!
